A Catamaran for Change

The Phoenix Project is a purpose-built humanitarian and environmental catamaran delivering healthcare, clean water, ecosystem restoration, research capabilities, and essential services to communities the road can’t reach.

PHOENIX

THE VISION

A Humanitarian & Environmental Platform for the Future

Millions of people living along coastlines and rivers lack reliable healthcare, clean water, sustainable infrastructure, and environmental support. Climate change, disasters, conflict, and isolation widen this gap every day.

Phoenix transforms waterways into pathways for impact — enabling community support and ecosystem restoration within the same mission.

Designed to reach what roads cannot, Phoenix delivers lifesaving care, environmental recovery, and sustainable development.

From remote islands to mangrove forests, coral reefs, river communities, and disaster zones, Phoenix brings modular, floating infrastructure wherever it’s needed most.

ROOTS — “DOC IN A BOX”

A Proven Model Brought to the Water

Phoenix expands on Steve’s pioneering “Doc in a Box” concept — modular clinics and workspaces built from standard shipping containers and trailer platforms.

Modular System Examples

  • A containerized AIDS clinic in Africa

  • A mobile dental unit that transforms into a 15-chair clinic in under one hour

Phoenix carries this proven adaptability onto a versatile marine platform engineered for remote regions.

Our Doc-in-a-Box Dental Unit allows us to set up a 15-chair dental clinic—with digital X-ray, oral hygiene, and sterilization areas—in less than one hour!

HOW PHOENIX WORKS

Phoenix uses reconfigurable modules — containerized units that lock into the catamaran’s deck — allowing the vessel to be customized for each mission.

Humanitarian Modules

  • Medical Clinics — Primary care, maternal health, triage, vaccinations, diagnostics

  • Dental Clinics — Portable or multi-chair systems

  • Water Treatment Modules — Clean, safe drinking water production

  • Laboratory Units — Diagnostics and disease surveillance

  • Education & Training Spaces — Capacity building for local teams

  • Super-Deck Eye Surgery Center — A mobile ophthalmology and corneal surgery center addressing one of the fastest growing global health needs

Environmental & Research Modules

  • Coral Spawning & Reef Restoration Units

  • Mangrove Planting & Nursery Modules

  • Marine & Coastal Research Labs

  • Turtle & Marine Wildlife Research Pods

  • River & Ocean Plastics Recovery Operations

Bocas Bounty Integration:
Phoenix transports trees, plants, soil amendments, and restoration equipment for reforestation and habitat recovery.

Sustainable Logistics & Transport Modules

  • Transport of recyclable materials

  • Delivery of eco-friendly building supplies

  • Movement of construction and humanitarian equipment

  • Hauling large and small cargo into areas unreachable by land

  • Transport of trees, seedlings, and vegetation for restoration and carbon recovery projects

Emergency Relief & Shelter Capabilities

  • ShelterBox Deployment — Delivering emergency kits with shelters, tools, water filtration, and essential survival resources

  • On-Deck Emergency Shelter — Rapid conversion of the super-deck into temporary housing, medical staging, or command centers

From Jungle Rafts to Purpose-Built Design

Our old methods were tough—long days of paddling and pulling rafts through the Amazon when no motors or fuel were available. But even then, as we hauled gear through unforgiving waterways, we’d remind ourselves, “Service Above Self.” It kept us moving when the work was hard and the river felt endless.
That same spirit carried forward as we evolved from makeshift rafts to purpose-built design. Every challenge taught us what a vessel truly needs in remote environments: reliability, efficiency, and the ability to go where others can’t.
Those lessons shaped the Phoenix—engineered specifically for the shallow, reef-dense waters of the Caribbean. Built to glide over sandbars, navigate tight channels, and operate safely where depth is measured in inches, not feet, the Phoenix delivers strength and capability without compromising access.
From jungle rafts to an innovative catamaran, our mission hasn’t changed:
Serve people, missions, and communities—wherever the water runs shallow and the work still demands resilience.
